Morcenx-la-Nouvelle readies its 5th Landes Watercolour Festival
From 25 September to 3 October 2027, Morcenx-la-Nouvelle will host the 5th International Landes Watercolour Festival. Over nine days, visitors will see the work of 50 artists and meet guest artists through a programme focused on watercolour.
The festival will unfold across several venues in town, including Salle du Maroc, the Centre Jean Jaurès and the Arjuzanx nature reserve. Exhibitions, workshops and live demonstrations will shape a programme that lets visitors move between finished works, working methods and the spaces that inspire them.
This edition will spotlight Emmanuelle Germaneau and Jérôme Muscat as guest artists. For painters and drawing enthusiasts, the appeal also lies in watching the craft at work: watercolour is built on timing, transparency and the way pigment travels with water, something demonstrations make especially clear.
The festival will also give visitors a chance to talk with artists and explore different watercolour techniques. With both exhibition and practice on view, it shows a medium where line, colour and chance combine layer by layer to shape the image.
